Professional Legal Qualifications
Practice Areas
Tracey McMillan is the CEO of Queensland Family Law Practice who works tirelessly to achieve best possible outcomes for her clients. She became a barrister in 2001, practising predominantly in the areas of Family Law.
In 2008, Tracey opted to leave the Bar and work as a solicitor, as she wanted a more hands-on approach with her clients, recognising that most matters were won or lost well before a barrister was involved in the case.
After years working as a special counsel, Tracey set up her own business, Queensland Family Law Practice.
Family Law Experience
Tracey’s experience is exceptionally well rounded – while Family Law is her predominant area of practice, Tracey has vast experience with business structures, trusts, complex Superannuation matters and employment law.
Her unique experience working in child support and her strong desire to support divorcing couples in minimising the distress to the family brought about by divorce has seen her extend her services in this area. She works as a Mediator, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Arbitrator and Parental Co-ordinator.
Tracey brings a human approach to the legal system. When working with a client she takes a holistic approach, exploring both the emotional behaviours behind client decisions and behaviours and the legal aspects of the case to create the most favourable outcomes for everyone involved.
Tracey is direct and strategic but compassionate with her clients and as a result, she is referred to as a fierce fighter for a good cause. She goes the extra mile and she genuinely takes each of her matters to heart, treating them as if she were representing her own family.
Her passion for justice sees her regularly invited to speak on topics of Domestic Violence and gender inequality in the Courtroom. She has also received numerous national and international awards, for her expertise in Family Law and matrimonial issues.
